Creation of custom weather products is a speciality. Weather data from the Australian BoM, NOAA in the US, The Metservice in New Zealand, and the Japan Meteorological Agency, along with supporting GIS data is used to create these unique products. - Automatic Weather Stations (AWS)
- Weather Radar - Australian, New Zealand, and US, combined into mosaics allowing creation of rainfall intensities for arbitrary areas that the radars cover.
- Weather Satellite Images - From a range of polar orbiting, and geo-stationary satellites.
- Forecasts - Using the Global Forecast Model (GFS) and others/
- Climate - Look at climate data for specific locations, as well as over a general area going back through the years.
- Events - Use of archived data to create presentations relating to specific events in the past using all avaiable AWS, Radar, and Satellite data.
There has been a significant accelleration in the application of the power of Global Information Systems around the world. The availability of large amounts of data, and location aware devices has fuelled a rapid growth in applications that can greatly benefit from the use of GIS. We can create systems to allow custom GIS data to be presented to application users in a format tuned specifically to their needs. Standard windows based clients can be created to use the data or web based solutions. Web based solutions can be entirely custom, or built on top of systems such as Google Maps to provide a rich interface with a wealth of data already available. Langarson has also developed a set of custom GIS layers that can be readily added into google maps for further enrichment of applications.
